Autoclave (Recommended)

134°C at 2 bar for 4-6 minutes kills all microorganisms. Suitable for nearly all stainless steel and titanium instruments. Note: tungsten carbide needle holders should use 121°C low-temp cycles.

Dry Heat

160°C for 120 minutes. For moisture-sensitive instruments, but longer cycles and higher energy use.

Chemical Sterilization

Glutaraldehyde soak for 10 hours achieves sterilization. Best for heat-sensitive plastics and rubber.

Maintenance Tips

  • Thoroughly clean instruments before sterilization
  • Do not over-pack sterilization pouches
  • Regularly validate autoclave performance with biological indicators
  • Maintain usage and sterilization logs
