1. Strength The oral retractor shall have sufficient mechanical strength. The working end shall withstand a tensile force of 20 N for 1 minute without deformation or fracture. 2. Surface Roughness Oral retractors are available in polished or matte finishes. - Polished surface: Surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.4 μm - Matte surface: Surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm 3. Corrosion Resistance Oral retractors shall have excellent corrosion resistance. Slight corrosion marks are permitted after testing and shall be fully removable by wiping. 4. Appearance The entire body of the oral retractor shall be smooth, free of sharp edges, burrs and cracks. 6. Dimensions & Type The pattern and basic dimensions of the oral retractor shall conform to specified standards.
